Sunday  Worship  Gatherings

In a world that is radically different from what it was just three years ago, some now choose to worship and learn from home, while many others are physically present on the Chapin Christian Community Church campus. In the midst of this new reality, we affirm our belief in the importance and value of coming together - when possible - as a part of the one body of Christ. To that end, we offer both traditional and contemporary worship experiences, and while the worship style might differ between the services, we seek to praise and honor God with the same heart!

We would love for you to join us for a worship gathering! You can do so here at our campus in Chapin [plan a visit], or you can worship with us live right HERE!

How Can We Pray For You

We know that times can be tough and sometimes we can feel alone in this. It doesn't have to be that way. Our prayer ministry is here for you. If you're facing a challenging moment or would just like to share some praise about something God has been doing in your life, then take a few minutes and fill out the praise and prayer form.  Thanks!

Every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am, we have a "prayer call" and we would love for you to join in and spend some precious moments together with God in prayer. (These prayer calls last no more than 30 minutes.)

Every Friday morning at 6:00 am, we host a prayer call when we pray for weekend services, the salvation of the lost, the sanctification of the saints, and revival in the Church-at-large. You can pray out loud or pray silently, and these prayer times last about 30 minutes.

Our Way Forward Timeline

My friend asked, "What did

YOUR CHURCH decide

about separating from the united methodist denomination?"

Back on February 26, 2023, Chapin UMC voted 97% in favor of separating from the United Methodist denomination. While issues surrounding human sexuality capture news headlines, far greater issues divide the denomination related to scriptural authority — what we believe about God, Jesus, and the Holy Bible. CUMC then entered into another period of discernment related to aligning with another denomination or remaining independent.  Church leadership has been clear from the very beginning: Whatever is discerned and decided, we will continue to be a church that loves all, invites all, welcomes all, and shares the good news of Jesus' redeeming love with all!

NEW NAME, SAME CHURCH!

After the vote to separate from the denomination was approved by the SC Annual Conference on June 6, 2023, The Church Council voted unanimously to adopt a new name for this amazing church family: Chapin Christian Community Church! It declares to all where we are [Chapin] who we are [Christian]  and what we are [a church open to the community and the world]! The name on the sign may have changed, but we are the same church, rooted deeply in Wesleyan Theology [what we believe] and Methodist Polity [how we do church]!

HAS CHAPIN CHRISTIAN DECIDED

ON WHERE TO ALIGN?

YES!! On July 30, 2023, the Chapin Christian family voted 90% in favor of aligning with The Foundry Network

a group of former UM Churches in the Wesleyan Tradition who have come together for even greater Kingdom impact, to work together to reawaken the movement of Christ in our communities. This network is made up

of accountable relationships that are simple and clear and that provide opportunities to learn, encourage, support and advance the Kingdom of God together!
