Sunday  Worship  Gatherings

In a world that is different as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, some now choose to worship and learn from home, while others are physically present here on our actual church campus. In the midst of this reality, we affirm our belief in the importance and value of coming together - when possible - as a part of the one body of Christ. We offer both traditional and contemporary worship experiences, and while the worship style might differ between the services, we seek to praise and honor God with the same heart!

There are a couple ways for you to join us for a worship gathering: You can join us here at our campus in Chapin [plan a visit], or you can worship with us live on the website!

How Can We Pray For You

We know that times can be tough and sometimes we can feel alone in this. It doesn't have to be that way. Our prayer ministry is here for you. If you're facing a challenging moment or would just like to share some praise about something God has been doing in your life, then take a few minutes and fill out the praise and prayer form.  Thanks!

Every Wednesday morning at 6:00 am, we have a "prayer call" and we would love for you to join in and spend some precious moments together with God in prayer. (These prayer calls last no more than 30 minutes.)

Every Friday morning at 6:00 am, we host a prayer call when we pray for weekend services, the salvation of the lost, the sanctification of the saints, and revival in the Church-at-large. You can pray out loud or pray silently, and these prayer times last about 30 minutes.

My friend asked me, "What did CUMC decide, and why?"

+++++

Chapin UMC recently voted 97% in favor of separating from the United Methodist denomination. While issues surrounding human sexuality capture news headlines, far greater issues divide the denomination related to scriptural authority — what we believe about God, Jesus, and the Holy Bible. CUMC is now discerning whether to align with another denomination or remain independent.  Whatever is discerned and decided, we will continue to be a church that loves all, invites all, welcomes all, and shares the good news of Jesus Christ with all!

GREAT NEWS:

ALIGNMENT RECOMMENDATION

Our Committee On a Way Forward [COAWF] recommended [with a consensus of 100%] to Church Council on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, that Chapin UMC become a part of The Foundry Network, a group of independent churches with a strong Methodist history who are no longer a part of the United Methodist denomination. Foundry Churches are rooted deeply in Wesleyan theology and tradition for the purpose of even greater Kingdom impact! And as you know, that’s been the heartbeat of this church for decades, we believe from the very beginning back in 1889! For more information, CLICK HERE

NEW VIDEOS ARE ON THE WAY

Thanks so much for your input - your praises and your concerns - throughout this season of discernment and prayer. Your voices are heard and they matter.

With our next congregational gathering for us to share together scheduled for July 9, our COAWF has decided to speak to some really important items before then.

So be on the lookout for some videos on these topics: (1) "Why is The Foundry

being recommended and not The Global Methodist Church?" (2) "Why isn't 'Methodist

in the new name?" (3) "If we become an Independent church, what about

accountability (checks and balances)?" and (4) "'Us' is not 'me'."
