About Transit

Transit is a ministry specifically designed for 5th and 6th graders at Chapin UMC. We seek to help students encounter Jesus and move them towards spiritual growth in their relationship with Him through connecting with the church, pursuing God, and engaging the world. We offer Sunday morning teaching time, Fun Friday Events, Mission Trips, and Retreats. For more information about Transit, contact Emily Wheaton at 803.345.2801 or emily@chapinumc.com.

Worthy - A Girl's Conference

As a tween girl, living in a secular society, trying to find a healthy balance in figuring out who Christ is and who you are in Christ can be challenging. Our girls need to know that they don’t have to be defined by what the world tells them they should be, what people say they are, or even what they think of themselves. Their worth is not determined by any good or bad thing they have done, but by Jesus.

We want to give them the tools, resources, and love they need to understand – firmly and securely – their identity in Christ. This is the heart behind Worthy. Send your 5th or 6th grade daughter, granddaughter, niece or neighbor to this one day conference just for them.

Worthy will be held in host homes on May 15, 2020 from 9am – 2pm. Girls in 5th – 7th grade will meet in groups of 7-10 in homes with 2-3 women as their hosts/group leaders. There will be both virtual and in-person elements used to create a special day for them to remember. The cost for the day is $30 and will include refreshments and lunch, fun activities, giveaways and goodie bags!

Follow this link to register and pay online. Payment can also be mailed or dropped off at CUMC. If you registered your daughter/granddaughter for our event that was to be held in March 2020, your payment will transfer but we ask that you register again. Friday Fun Night

Friday Fun Nights may look a little different, but it is still a great time to invite a friend and introduce them to the Transit Ministry!

We love when parents jump in and help serve in any of our family ministries. If you would like to serve with our Wave, Transit or Fusion ministries please sign up by following the links below.
