About Transit

Transit is a ministry specifically designed for 5th and 6th graders at Chapin UMC. We seek to help students encounter Jesus and move them towards spiritual growth in their relationship with Him through connecting with the church, pursuing God, and engaging the world. We offer Sunday morning teaching time, Fun Friday Events, Mission Trips, and Retreats. For more information about Transit, contact Emily Wheaton at 803.345.2801 or emily@chapinumc.com.

Transit meets weekly on Sundays at 10:10am

in the Room 116.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Wednesday Discipleship Group

Christmas can be filled with all sorts of emotions. Some of us easily find the joy of the season. Some rest in the hope that God is making all things new. But others, especially this year, struggle to find peace due to life's circumstances. With everything going on, we thought it would be great to go back to the basics and simply celebrate Christmas.

The truth is Jesus is the best gift God ever gave. Jesus was proof that God loves us and we can trust God no matter what. Because of Jesus, it's possible for us to have a relationship with God that will last forever. Let's take time to celebrate the greatest gift the world has ever known and find joy and hope and peace as we rest in the unconditional love of God!

Worthy - A Girl's Conference

As the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread, the health and safety of our students is of great concern. Due to the current circumstances, the Worthy Conference that was to be held on Saturday, March 28th is postponed FOR NOW.

We have been preparing for this event for a quite a while and so it makes our Transit Ministry so sad to have to postpone at this time. Be assured that the heart behind the message of Worthy beats as strong as ever and our team cannot wait to serve your girls.

Emily Wheaton will reach back out to you as soon as we are able to provide you with information regarding a new date. Questions? Contact Emily at emily@chapinumc.com

As a tween girl, living in a secular society, trying to find a healthy balance in figuring out who Christ is and who you are in Christ can be challenging. Our girls need to know that they don’t have to be defined by what the world tells them they should be, what people say they are, or even what they think of themselves. Their worth is not determined by any good or bad thing they have done, but by Jesus.

We want to give them the tools, resources, and love they need to understand – firmly and securely – their identity in Christ. This is the heart behind Worthy. Send your 5th or 6th grade daughter, granddaughter, niece or neighbor to this one day conference just for them.

We believe that the job of discipling our children and partnering with parents is one of the most important things we can do. We also recognize that this is a team effort. We love when parents jump in and help serve in any of our family ministries. If you would like to serve with our Wave, Transit or Fusion ministries please sign up by following the links below.
