CUMC'S GLOBAL OUTREACH (GO)
"... you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all of Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8, NIV.)
Chapin UMC is committed to reaching out to the lost and hurting both at home and abroad by forming strategic partnerships with churches and organizations that are planting churches, equipping leaders, assisting the poor, caring for the sick and educating future generations.
Our vision is to see members develop a servant’s heart, a passion for God and a love for others through serving at home and around the world. We want to see lives fully surrendered to Him as we serve one another in love so that all nations may know that He alone is God.
CUMC's Work Area on Missions has been organized as a Global Outreach Team, or GO Team. Within the GO Team, we have Acts 1:8 teams of:
Jerusalem Team - responsible for missions covering Lexington, Richland, Newberry and Fairfield Counties
Judea Team - responsible for missions covering the southeastern states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Samaria Team - responsible for missions covering specific people groups that are ignored or avoided, perhaps even nearby. Our "Samaria" is still being defined.
Ends of the Earth Team – responsible for the United States beyond the Judea region, and international missions.
The GOals of Chapin United Methodist Church's Work Area on Missions align with our church's overall GOals. We desire to:
